“
We have experienced food from NY, Vancouver , BC, and other great cities in the US and Canada. From 5 stars to dives. We enjoyed the experience at this place, it is a not stuffy crowd ,and the waiter was great. Good service. Food was OK for the price about $75-99 per person. BUT MY HUSBAND AND I HAD BOUTS OF DIARRHEA 6 HOURS AFTER EATING THE FOOD. WHEN WE CALL WE WERE TOLD THAT FOOD POISONING CAN HAPPEN EVEN AFTERS 72 HOURS. NOT KNOWING THAT WE BOTH ARE PHYSICIANS. Usually food poisoning happens from 4-24hours. We were not trying to get any refund or anything but we wanted to let them know. But our comments were not well received by the management. Moral of the story is proper hand washing!!!! It can happen even at high end restaurants!! ”

Cafe Pro Bono |

“10/08 Sat. Pro Bono is a hidden gem like Piacere. Inside is Tuscany decor, medium size, comfy & homey. Menu choices R balanced. Apps: Carpaccio di Veneccia ($10) had v. tasty, razor-thin beef, w/ tossed spinach, Parmesan & capers, B+. Artichoke stuffed w/ spinach ($8) was so-so, w/ some parts overbaked. Entrees: Smoked Sonoma duck breast ($24) was moist, juicy w/ strong smoky aroma, A-. D polenta was sm%th, mixed w/ sauteed mushr%ms. Veal scallopine ($19) was sauteed in Marsala, v. tender & flavorful, served w/ mushr%m meshed potato, A-. Grilled Cornish hen breast ($15 bargain) was mildly tender/tasty (overdone?), but the couscous w/ pancetta was lite & delicious, B+. Side veggies wer different 4 each dish. Dolce B+: Tiramisu ($6) was classic made, not in a cup, tasted 1dRfL! Chocl@ decadence ($8) was not t% dense not t% mousse, 2 my liking. Service was superb, even @ full house. We got a round of free port 4 finale, due to 30 min waiting beyond reservation time? ”

“Creative Asian small plates at its best! Everything here is so flavorful and well balanced. Great selection of appetizers (calamari, sweet potato fries, seared miso marinated tofu, flat bread with curry sauce, spicy chicken wings), great entree selection, many noodles in many forms and they are all sophisticated and tasty!
Great drink list, more cocktails than wine, and amazing amazing desserts. Food here is so great all around but presented in such an environment with no pretension. Friendly service, food comes out very quickly, and hip and fun environment! ”

Chill a Specialty Cafe |

“Not your ordinary fro-yo place!
Clean, bright nice little cafe featuring very interesting and tasty desserts. Friendly staff, comfortable seatings, quick service and quality product.
Don't think of other "fro-yo" place when you think about Chill. It is VERY different, and not just a "fro-yo" place but rather as their name states "a specialty dessert cafe."
Major plus for having rooibos!

9 Islands Bakery Cafe |
Cuisine:

Santa Rosa |
“If you don't live here in Santa Rosa - Rohnert Park, you'll need your GPS to find this tiny place. Salesroom is smaller than my Nissan Sentra. It's an authentic Portuguese bakery with a limited selection that carries just a few other items like Chorizo, salted dried cod fish, & a few soft drinks. I bought some fluffy dinner rolls and a few pastries. The construction and the flavors of the baked goods was yeoman & competent. Nothing spectacular. This is working mans' food. Prices are very low. A loaf of bread is 90 cents. The young lady at the cash register was friendly and sweet. ”

Urban Tavern |

“Run by the C&L group the same people responsible for the 5th floor and owns Aqua, this new cozy chic place located at the Hilton has some interesting junk art. The kind you use to see on the banks of the bay at Berkeley. Interesting menu, my favorite are place that have Charcuterie plates and this one won! Next we had a nice Caesar salad sporting white anchovies that had excellent balance with the dressing. EntrĂ©es were lamb chops and the Sea Bass in a brown butter and caper sauce. Surprising all the plates were excellent, in presentation and delivery. We split a Peach Melba that had succulent fruit from somewhere in season. These people must know some secret to motivating the staff. Price is moderate to high, service excellent and a nice surprise to find in a hotel. It will be interesting to see how a return visit will match. The surprise was that it was half full on a Thursday evening. Parking sure, try a garage. ”

Bodega Bistro |

“This is a great place for dinner before an event in the Civic Center - it's only a few blocks away. I had dinner here with one companion and enjoyed my meal so much, I suggested it for a group dinner the following week before a concert at the Herbst and it worked out perfectly. Low key decor. Plenty of choices for everyone to share - the dishes I remember were the papaya salad, pot stickers, squab, spring rolls, veggies, shaking beef (incredibly tender meat) , salmon, tiger prawns. All the dishes were good. Service was particularly pleasant and attentive for a restaurant of this caliber. At the end of the meal we were treated to a trio of fruity gelatin desserts for the table. The bill was very reasonable too. I'll be back again- certainly to maybe to try the lunch with seems to be a hit with other reviewers.

“Took my girl friend from out of town here last saturday and we both just loved it. Beautiful bayview right around sunset. Service was excellent. Lychee ginger tini was oh, so good. All small plates this time: baked with mushroom in the little cups were kinda cute, the scallops were perfectly cooked, seafood cigars (like mini eggrolls) were crispy and tasty, save froi gras for last y'all cuz it had this sweet cranberry sauce. Nice presentation, hot food, and certainly satisfying.

“So I'm at work and suddenly this cheesesteak appears in the front of the office- I ask the admin what its all about and she says that this guy came in to drop off a sandwich because they're opening a new restaurant. It looked like a real Philly cheesesteak (which I had thought was impossible to get outside of PA, NJ or NY) so I tried it AND IT WAS A REAL PHILLY CHEESESTEAK!!! DELICIOUS! Do they have their rolls delivered from Amoroso's on the East Coast or what? I just got back from visiting the fam in Philly and suddenly this magical cheesesteak appeared in my office! Amazing! (the only thing they need is sweet peppers to put on it...maybe someday they will appear in the front of my office too......) ”

“I went to this place 2 weeks ago and meant to write this comment. This place has really bad service and flavorless food at a high price. The dish was tremendously bland. Salt and pepper couldn't save it. I do not recommend this place to anyone. If you want good seafood go somewhere else to get your money's worth. ”
